Video.
[Ah, yes some little doodle in a book at the bookshop.
The resemblance is uncanny, right?]

Don't get mad, don't get mad...]
That's quite cheeky of you.
There's not so much red on me, though. Or horns. The tail is a nice touch, though, that would actually a bit fun; I could wag my tail when I'm happy like a dog.
[She doesn't know him nearly well enough to know the joke is because he's faintly uncomfortable, but hey! At least he's being nice.]

[The feed cuts. Very strange, very brief.
But then five minutes later:]
How about this one?

Tasmanian Devil! I quite liked that one from the cartoons. He was always getting himself into trouble.
[That may or may not answer your question.]
no subject
... I have not watched cartoons yet. I've just read comics, mostly.
no subject
You'd love them.
Well, there are a lot of jokes about celebrities most people aren't familiar with anymore, but that's all right.
no subject
... DVD's are the disc-shaped movies, yes?
no subject
Exactly! Much more convenient than the VHS tapes people used to use. Easier to store much more information on that, which means much more cartoons.
no subject
Unless we're going retro and bringing them back for shits and giggles.
Which, knowing society... y'know.]
... It sounds fun. Like comic books.
no subject
Precisely! There's this fantastic short, "What's Opera, Doc". If you can find that one, you should watch it.
no subject
What is 'opera'?
[Oh Lucy, you're talking to someone who hasn't seen much of the world.
At all.
She's doing her best, though, she swears.]
no subject
Oh, it's a form of theatre. Very fancy, lots of people singing in French or German or Italian. Usually it's long and boring, and about people fighting.
[This is such a bad description of opera.]
no subject
[A bad description? Maybe...
But also Laura is 100% taking his word for it.]
no subject
There's a lot of dancing, too. And plenty of the time, people don't even sing, they just talk.
[This is a man who hates opera describing opera.]
I quite prefer musical theatre to opera.
no subject
[Laura, please.]
I haven't listened to music until recently, but I think I would like musical theatre.
no subject
That sounds quite a bit more exciting than what I've seen.
[He nods at her, looking thoughtful for a moment.]
I'm sure you'd be able to find something you like.
[Laura almost certainly needs an actual adult for this, because his suggestion would probably be Avenue Q.]

Thank you for your help, Tasmanian Devil.
